Companies who would like to get involved in the Mayor’s Intern Fellows Program have several ways they can participate:
- Companies can provide a paid internship for at least one student from to June 13 to August 5. Internships may be a 20 to 40 hour per week job that will give the student real-life experience in the workplace performing meaningful work assignments, job shadowing executives, observing company operations and having personal contact with managers and executives regarding future career prospects in the industry.
- Companies can sponsor an intern to work at a participating local nonprofit from June 13 to August 5 . For companies who are unable to host an intern at their place of business they may choose to sponsor a student to work at a local nonprofit. Companies have the opportunity to select their sponsored nonprofit from the MIFP participating nonprofit list. If there is a nonprofit a company would like to support that is not currently on the MIFP participating nonprofit list, we will work with the company to recruit the nonprofit to participate. * If your company is interested in hosting or sponsoring an intern this summer, please read over the information under the “What’s Expected?” tab and when ready to sign-up go to the “Internship Partner Sign-Up” tab and fill out the 2016 MIFP Internship Partner Commitment Form.
- Companies can become a Program Sponsor. To provide additional support of the internship program, there are several Program Sponsorships available. Currently the program is looking for sponsors to underwrite work-readiness trainings and special student enrichment events and programs.
