One of the biggest events of your life has finally come and gone. Now, you could be feeling run-down, lost and depressed. Many planners/host experience this. You put so much time and effort, that you can be truly exhausted. Plus, leading up to an event, healthy habits are often put on hold.
Getting healthy again can make major improvements on your ability to “bounce back.” They are so basic yet, so important. Here are some tips to get you back on track:
1) Eat Right: We are event planners, our diets are not what they should be. We are often eating fast- food or even worse “event” food. Add in more fruits and vegetables. Try to remove from your diet that might be high in sodium and fat. Energy and brain health are just two of the benefits of eating right according to SF Gate’s Article, 5 Benefits of Proper Nutrition.
2) Exercise: Get your body moving. It doesn’t have to be the standard walking, running or biking. Try something new, like yoga, cannoning, rock climbing. According to WebMd, “Improved self-esteem is one of the top benefits of regular physical activity. “
3) Sleep: Onsite at events and the days leading up to an event, often you are running on very little sleep because of late nights and early mornings. Getting the right amount of sleep helps you improve your memory and could help you live longer according to Health.com. The same article offers nine other benefits.
4) Drink Water: Drink more water. You don’t need to carry around a water bottle all day, though you could. Drink a glass of water before your meals, then order something else. However you are able to work it in, you will benefit. Drinking more water will help energize your muscles, which can be very important after long days running around. Think about your feet.
BONUS TIP – Reward Yourself: You earned it. Go do something you’ve always wanted to do, or buy that new pair of shoes. Or even better take a trip.
